Article 10.2 Vacation Leave

Greetings Fellow AEE Members,

Employees within the AEE Bargaining unit receive 12 hours of vacation leave twice per year on February 1st and July 1st every year per the AEE CBA. As some may have noticed, DAS neglected to load the 12 hours of vacation leave this February 1. AEE was notified by the agency that they would be sending notice to all ODOT Managers on February 11, 2021 directing they communicate the message to all AEE represented employees.

DAS correctives take a full cycle to run, which means all affected employees should see the 12 hours of vacation leave on their April 1 paychecks, as the hours will show up in the payroll system on 3/11/21.

It is possible for vacation leave hours to be manually loaded, so payroll is extending the option for employees who are depending on that 12 hours of vacation leave to contact their payroll tech(s) directly to have the hours loaded sooner.

If you are near the 250 vacation hours limit; you will need to account for the 12 hours of additional vacation leave in your vacation calculations to bring them below the limit, as these hours were not reflected in TAMS or leave balances. Vacation Leave (VL) hours beyond 250 hours are forfeited come May 1st. We understand this may have caused confusion and inconveniences for our members and we want relay the message that current leave balances do not reflect the 12 hour VL addition.

Please contact the AEE Office with any questions or concerns at office@aeeo.org.
